25.5.2013 - AHOY, Sailor!

I've been busy with some last uni assignments and happily I just have to write one lecture diary and then I'm done! This fact didn't let me stay from my camera any longer, I really wanted to go to take some photos after such a long time and happily Lily was kind enough to model for me again after nine (9!!!) months! Last shoot we had was before I moved to Rovaniemi and now I'm so happy to be back here!

This shoot didn't have any special theme, but I guess we ended up having some kind of an sailor theme anyways.. Also the weather was a pain in the a*s! At one time it was cloudy but still bright and at other times sun was shining and you must know how hard it is trying to take nicely exposed photos in a bright sunlight when shooting at the riverside :D But I think that we got some pretty nice photos anyways~

Also I got to use my new monopod for the first time, YAY! :3

ps. Also that dress gave me headache 'cause it gets really wrinkly in no time! ARGH!

Night time at Rovaniemi

Yesterday evening I was with friends when we got this idea with Valpuri to go out and take some night photos! So we took our stuff (cameras and tripods) and headed to outside!

It was pretty cold, I think it was about -10C and well.. In the end of the trip I couldn't even feel my fingers anymore :')

We went to take photos around 23:00 and I got home around 00:00 so it was really dark already, that's why the shutter speed had to be pretty long = we needed tripods.

I feel like I did get some pretty good photos, so I'm pretty happy.. I also had to have pretty big ISO (250-320) but for my relief there's not much statics in the photos!

And before the last one, this one has pretty much statics, 'cause I wanted to make it a lot lighter, but for some reason I actually like it :O I just wanted to try taking a photo of the starry sky :)

"Valopaloja" 8.9.2012

Hi~

Here's some photos from yesterday, we had this school thing called "Valopaloja", for it we made lanterns and had a parade.. We walked through from the library to the Lordin aukio through Rovakatu :) Our theme was food and all the lanterns were made to the theme :)

Also we made the lanterns in small groups of 5 ppl, it was really fun!

It was bad luck though that when we arrived to Lordin aukio it was empty, though there was supposed to be band playing and food etc :( But no, I guess the little rain did make it's thing and ppl left the place..

Well, I didn't take it to heart, but some girls were talking that you shouldn't make effort if it's like this, well buuhuu, stuff happens and it's just life, deal with it :D

But yeah, I took some photos of the beautiful sunset and of the bridge: Jätkänkynttilä.. Also you can see some photos of the lantern my group made :)
